I discovered storytelling when I took the class, The Art of Storytelling, at SJSU over 35 years ago. Since then I have told at a variety of venues that include schools, civic organizations, community radio, and festivals, bringing stories of peace, justice and whimsical magic through a variety of genres. I have been a regional teller at the Sierra Storytelling Festival and have served as the Open Teller Concert Emcee there for twelve years and was a volunteer teller at The Women’s Empowerment Program of Sacramento for 15 years. My fee is $100 but I'm always willing to work as a group’s budget allows. Contact Linda at linderellakennedy@gmail.com

I am a UC Davis Graduate in Animal Sciences and have lived all over the West Coast of the US. My stories describe past and present zany and obscure situations I've been placed in, whether by my own volition or not. Most stories are humor-driven. I currently reside in the Bay Area and am happy to travel around the West Coast to tell stories in person. Rate: No official rate. I appreciate compensation, and it doesn't have to be monetary, but it isn't a requirement for me to come tell!

Bio: I am a retired public servant who fell into storytelling quite by accident. I thoroughly enjoy it and love to perform at various events. Most of my stores are original interpretations of historical events or reinterpretations of traditional fables. My preferential audience is senior citizens, and I like to stories in various facilities i,e, retirement homes, skilled nursing facilities, etc. I typically tell the following types of stories, Tall Tales, Historical Fiction, 1st person stories, folktales, and fairytales. Due to Covid concerns, I only perform online via zoom. I currently do not charge to perform on zoom pre covid; I charged $50.00 an hour for performances in senior facilities. Before retiring, John Patterson, started working at eight as a blue collar worker, worked his way through school and eventuallly had his ownlaw office. He also taught in public secondary school and worked in administration. When not writing his memoir, he tells true stories. Many of his stories reveal the unexpected challenges a child faced. These have garnered attention at various private and social venues. John looks forward to more opportunities to share universal feelings. He engages his audience’s knowledge to provide context to slices of life episodes from the ‘50’-‘70’s. Audiences enjoy hearing these while learning more about California.
